Role Description
This part-time Finance Director role at Portal für Politikwissenschaft (pw-portal) is a hybrid position based in Dubai, with a mix of on-site work and work-from-home flexibility. The Finance Director oversees financial planning and budgeting, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support the organization’s strategic and operational objectives. Daily responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting financial statements, monitoring cash flow, managing financial controls, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The role involves preparing forecasts, analyzing financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing clear recommendations to leadership for sustainable financial management. The Finance Director collaborates with cross-functional teams, supports compliance with relevant financial regulations, and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, with demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning and budgeting.
- Experience preparing and interpreting Financial Statements and conducting robust Financial Reporting.
- Highly developed Analytical Skills to assess financial data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
- Proficiency with financial software and tools, and advanced skills in spreadsheet and data analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements in the United Arab Emirates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a part-time setting, and collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a director-level or senior finance role within non-profit, academic, or research-oriented organizations is beneficial.
