Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo offers a collaborative environment where associate attorneys work alongside seasoned practitioners to deliver effective and strategic representation in permitting proceedings for major development projects across the state. Associate attorneys also work on cutting-edge energy, environmental and land use policy, regulatory and legislative issues.

The ideal candidates will have

:

  • Substantive experience practicing land use, planning and zoning, and environmental law in California.
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, including in designing and implementing advocacy that consistently obtains high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable development which minimizes public health and environmental harm while maximizing community benefits.
  • Excellent legal research, analytic and writing skills.
  • Outstanding and persuasive written or oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed, to represent clients at public hearings.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical experts, including with respect to new technologies and emerging climate and health threats.
  • Ability to work collegially and collaboratively and contribute to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture.
  • California Bar membership.

The anticipated base salary range for attorneys with

3-5 years of experience is $130,000 to $155,000

and for attorneys with

6-10 years of experience is $155,000 to $190,000

, plus annual performance-based bonuses. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option, reasonable billable hours requirement, annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses, excellent health insurance benefits and opportunity to participate in a 401(k).
