POSITION SUMMARY
The Information Systems Assistant supports the Oracle-based ERP and business applications used across the Eaton family of companies. Working closely with the Director of Information Systems, this role assists with database maintenance, application development, troubleshooting, testing, and technical documentation.
This position provides hands-on training in Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle APEX, and related systems, with opportunities to take on greater technical responsibility as skills develop.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with writing, testing, and tuning SQL and PL/SQL scripts.
- Help maintain and troubleshoot Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle APEX applications, and SOA components used for electronic data interchange (EDI) and workflow automation.
- Assist with developing and updating dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.
- Work with the Director of Information Systems to translate business requirements into ERP enhancements and custom application solutions.
- Document system configurations, technical procedures, and application workflows.
- Support daily system operations, including troubleshooting issues and testing application changes.
- Assist with system integrations and support other ERP and software applications used across the company.
- Complete assigned coding, testing, and technical support tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to work on-site in Oak Park, Michigan, as required by the hybrid schedule.
- Some experience or familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Workflow, Oracle APEX, or Java.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn new systems and develop technical skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
