About the role

We’re looking for a skilled and guest-focused Operations Engineer to support a fast-paced technology environment with a strong emphasis on reliability, responsiveness, and collaboration. This hybrid role in Brooklyn Park, MN offers the opportunity to troubleshoot complex issues, improve observability, and partner closely with engineering and product teams to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor applications and respond to technical alerts during scheduled on-call coverage across weekdays and weekends.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues across applications, APIs, integrations, databases, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Review logs, error messages, system behavior, and monitoring data to identify root causes and support timely resolution.
  • Reproduce customer-reported issues and document findings clearly for engineering and product partners.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product, infrastructure, and support teams to address high-impact incidents.
  • Escalate defects with detailed reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and technical context.
  • Support APIs and third-party integrations, including configuration and implementation questions.
  • Manage support cases from investigation through resolution while keeping stakeholders informed with accurate updates.
  • Create and maintain troubleshooting documentation, runbooks, knowledge-base articles, and technical guides.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to product behavior, tooling, documentation, and support processes.
  • Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Build monitors, recovery processes, and analysis tools that help strengthen reliability and observability.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical support or production support role.
  • Background in Java application development and/or support, with experience in Java 17 or later.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot APIs and PostgreSQL.
  • Working knowledge of Apache Kafka.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix, networking fundamentals, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and REST APIs.
  • Experience using logging, monitoring, or observability tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and collaboration platforms such as Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong ownership, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting enterprise software products.
  • Exposure to distributed systems, microservices, web applications, or APIs.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of authentication technologies such as OAuth, SSO, SAML, and JWT.
  • Experience with incident management and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to build scripts or internal tools that improve support efficiency.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to learning, problem-solving, and delivering within SLA expectations.
