We are seeking an experienced
Operations Manager
to lead the day-to-day operations of a technical materials testing laboratory in Aberdeen, with responsibility for
mechanical, metallurgical, fracture mechanics and fatigue testing
.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the laboratory delivers high-quality, technically robust and commercially effective testing services while maintaining the highest standards of
health & safety, quality, customer service, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
.
The role is particularly suited to an operations leader with experience in
materials testing, metallurgy, mechanical testing or engineering services
, ideally within the
oil & gas, energy, offshore, subsea, aerospace, power generation or industrial sectors
.

Required Experience
- Significant experience managing operations within a materials testing, mechanical testing, metallurgical laboratory or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and materials testing principles.
- Experience with some combination of fracture mechanics, fatigue testing, metallography and mechanical testing.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and laboratory operations.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and risk management.
- Proven ability to manage workload, resources, priorities and customer deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement skills.
