A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team and oversee multifamily apartment construction projects ranging from approximately $2 million to $100 million. This position will serve as a key interface between our customers, field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, overseeing project administration from submittals and procurement through project completion while helping ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing multifamily/apartment construction projects, along with strong knowledge of submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor coordination, project budgets, procurement, and construction documentation. Candidates should be comfortable managing complex projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and supporting field operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to serve as a key interface between our customers, field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. This position will oversee project administration from submittals and procurement through project completion while helping ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven construction environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as a primary interface between the customer, project team, subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations.
  • Proactively administer and coordinate submittals, shop drawings, product data, materials, and other project documentation.
  • Review and process submittals to help expedite project schedules and ensure materials are delivered on time.
  • Communicate project submittal requirements and compliance details to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier requirements throughout the project.
  • RFIs, clarifications, changes, directives, and other project information are properly documented and incorporated into as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate project changes with company supervision, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with architects, engineers, owners, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project information effectively and provide responsive customer service to the General Contractor and other customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and project partners.
  • Support field operations and work proactively to address project requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontract scope, buyout, equipment, and purchasing activities.
  • Prepare, issue, track, and distribute RFIs and change orders.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes for subcontractor, coordination, and internal meetings.
  • Prepare and submit owner-required closeout documentation.
  • Assist subcontractors and suppliers with owner-required training, documentation, and closeout requirements.
  • Analyze project issues and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
  • Assist Field Operations, the Director of Operations, and Vice President with project administration and financial management.
  • Proactively manage project budgets by monitoring expenses and identifying potential cost exposures.
  • Administer owner and subcontractor billings in coordination with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Identify work that falls outside subcontractor scope or budget and proactively address potential cost and schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate with the Project Accountant regarding subcontractor compliance requirements.
  • Provide purchasing with approved submittals.
  • Manage major equipment submittals.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Help ensure office support functions contribute to successful budget and schedule completion.
  • Perform other project-management responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Experience managing construction projects, project documentation, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong experience with construction submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and project closeout.
  • Experience with construction project budgets, cost control, subcontractor billing, and scope management.
  • Strong understanding of construction project structure and workflow.
  • Experience coordinating with General Contractors, architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and engineering/project-management software.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista or another construction project-tracking platform is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software is preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze issues, and proactively develop solutions.
  • Strong team orientation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Commitment to safety, confidentiality, quality, dependability, and timely completion of responsibilities.
