Position: Truck Driver Class A

Reports to: Transportation Supervisor

Salary Range: $28 - $32 an hour

Truck Driver responsibilities include:

  • Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance including submitting reports on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip and DOT pre-trip inspections.
  • Planning routes, meeting delivery schedules and obtaining proper delivery authorization and pick up documentation.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts to comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Comply with DOT truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Report defects, accidents or violations.
  • Operate a forklift, electric pallet jack/dolly to move IBC’s and pallets to and from locations.
  • Haul hazardous chemical, pump and read tanks before and after the delivery.
  • Check load accuracy and stability before each trip.
  • Help on the dock and pick orders when needed.
  • May require one overnight approximately every two weeks.

Requirements and skills

  • Class A valid truck driving license
  • Hazmat with tanker endorsement
  • Hazardous Materials Safety Training
  • Background check to include no recent moving or driving violations and proven work experience
  • The ability to lift a maximum of 70 pounds
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
  • Attention to detail

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
