About the role

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and work on a technically challenging project in the cybersecurity domain. 

Our client is a well-funded startup ($24M+ raised) building a cutting-edge application detection & response platform. Using OpenTelemetry and trace analytics, their solution enables enterprises to stop attacks with in-application context into all runtime transactions and behaviours. The company’s mission is to revolutionise application security with real-time anomaly detection and monitoring, automated incident response and rich context.

We’re looking for someone who can take ownership, quickly understand unfamiliar systems, and solve complex infrastructure and DevOps problems without needing step-by-step direction.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience across a range of DevOps tools and cloud technologies and is comfortable working across different stacks. Beyond engineering, you should be comfortable speaking directly with customers, understanding their technical and business needs, recommending pragmatic solutions, and clearly explaining the reasoning and trade-offs behind them.

Required skill-set & experience

- Proven track record as a DevOps/Platform engineer (5+ years of production hands-on experience), fluent in industry trends & best practices 

- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS and its services

- Infrastructure-as-code experience with tools like Terraform and Terragrunt

- Well-versed in Kubernetes and Helm

- Hands-on experience with ArgoCD

- Experience with monitoring and observability (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, VictoriaMetrics)

- Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or other alternatives

- Solid understanding of networking: subnetting, HTTP, DNS, TLS, OSI Model

- A consulting mindset, ability to weigh and present pros/cons of various solutions

- Upper-intermediate+ level of English

Bonus points

- Experience in managing databases, such as Cassandra, Clickhouse, OpenSearch

- Experience with OpenTelemetry 

- AWS, CKA or other cloud certifications

- You’re a contributor to open-source software, or run your own projects
