About the role

Job Summary

For our client, we are looking for Senior Software Engineers with strong expertise in .NET and C# to join a remote team developing and enhancing mission-critical software systems within the financial services industry.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance, scalable applications while collaborating with experienced engineers, architects, and business stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions and work in a modern Agile environment using best software engineering practices.

You will be part of a long-term team augmentation project supporting a global investment management organization. Depending on your experience and interests, you may join one of the following engineering teams:

Execution Technology

Develop systems responsible for routing, executing, and monitoring trades across global markets, including broker and venue connectivity, order routing, trade lifecycle management, and execution analytics.

Order Management and Analytics

Build and enhance the core Order Management System (OMS), supporting the complete investment order lifecycle-from order creation and compliance checks to routing, execution, allocations, and audit trails. This area requires a strong focus on correctness, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Enterprise Engineering

Develop and maintain shared internal platforms, APIs, CI/CD tooling, and engineering infrastructure that support multiple development teams. The focus is on scalability, reliability, automation, and improving the overall developer experience.

This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to work on complex, business-critical systems using modern technologies while collaborating with international engineering teams. It is an excellent opportunity for senior engineers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems, building high-quality software, and contributing to the architecture of enterprise-scale platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex software solutions, from requirements gathering and architecture design to development, testing, and production deployment
  • Owning and driving long-term technical initiatives and architectural improvements across systems
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
  • Championing engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable design patterns
  • Conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance to peers and junior engineers
  • Proactively identifying and reducing technical debt, improving system resilience, and optimizing performance
  • Leading incident response and root cause analysis for production issues
  • Balancing multiple priorities at once, new features, production issues, support requests, and releases;
  • Operating day-to-day within the project tools, codebase, infrastructure, and processes as part of the project team.

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with C# and .NET
  • Proven experience in architectural design, system scalability, and distributed systems;
  • Financial services background would be considered as advantage;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning;
  • Ability to balance delivery of business value with long-term technical strategy;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus;
  • Strong advocate for collaborative development practices and continuous improvement;
  • Ability to work independently and drive things forward;
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

The offer:

  • Project/Client:

    Global Investment Management Firm

  • Location: Remote (Baltic States, EU)
  • Language: English
  • Engagement: Full-time
  • B2B contract till the end of the year (possibility to renew)
  • Hourly rate: 30-35 EUR

Selection Process

Stage 1: CV Screening

Your application will be reviewed within 24 hours of submission.

Stage 2: Pre-Screening

A short Q/A session to assess your experience and technical background. You can choose between:

  • Automated Q/A session (recommended for faster feedback)
  • Recruiter interview

Stage 3: Shortlisting

Candidates whose experience best matches the role will be shortlisted and presented to the hiring manager.

Stage 4: Technical Interview

The technical interview process includes:

  • Technical discussion with the Team Lead (approximately 30 minutes)
  • Live coding session (approximately 60 minutes)

Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Before the technical interview, candidates will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), as confidential information about the end client may be discussed during the interview.

To prepare the NDA, we will request the following information:

  • Full name
  • Residential address
  • National identification number (or equivalent identification required by your country)

Stage 5: End Client Interview

Candidates who successfully complete the previous stages will proceed to the end client interview process.

This stage may include one or more interview rounds. The first interview is typically a 60-minute technical Q/A session, focusing on your technical expertise, project experience, system design approach, and problem-solving skills.

Stage 6: Offer and Onboarding

Successful candidates will receive an offer and begin the onboarding process.

As part of the onboarding process, a background verification will be conducted. Candidates will be asked to provide the following documents:

  • Criminal Record Certificate
  • Confirmation that the contractor is not subject to financial sanctions (Financial Sanctions Screening)
  • Copies of educational certificates and diplomas
  • A valid work permit for the country where the contractor resides and works (if applicable)

Once all required documentation has been received and the background verification has been successfully completed, the onboarding process can begin.

---

Additional Information

  • We recommend completing the Automated Q/A Session during the pre-screening stage, as it typically allows us to provide feedback more quickly.
  • Candidates who prefer a traditional approach may instead complete the pre-screening with one of our recruiters.
  • We aim to keep candidates informed throughout the process and provide updates after each completed stage.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about finding your next role

What can I search for?

Search by job title or keyword, then browse remote, hybrid, and onsite openings in one list.

Where can I find remote jobs?

Browse remote openings on Remote Amigo. Search by job title or keyword, then choose Remote in the work format filter. Check each listing for location or country requirements.

How do I narrow the results?

Choose a country, work format, minimum annual salary, and experience level. You can change or clear the filters at any time.

What will I see on a job page?

Each listing shows the role, company, location, work format, salary when available, skills when provided, and a job description.

Do I need an account to browse jobs?

No. You can search and read the available listings without signing in.

Does this site submit job applications for me?

No. You can search and review listings here. The Apply button starts the job preference quiz; it does not submit an application to an employer.

Where do the jobs come from?

Listings are imported from public job feeds and job sites. Job details may change at the original source, so confirm the latest information before applying.

How recent are the listings?

Search results include listings with a publication date in the last 30 days. If a source provides no publication date, the import date is used; the actual posting may be older.

Can I search for remote jobs only?

Yes. Select Remote in the job type filter to show remote listings. You can switch to Hybrid or Onsite whenever you want.

What is the difference between remote, hybrid, and onsite?

Remote roles are intended to be done away from an office. Hybrid roles combine remote and office work. Onsite roles are based at a workplace. Always read the listing for its exact location requirements.

Can I filter jobs by country?

Yes. Choose a country in the search form to narrow the listings. A remote role may still have country restrictions, so check its description before applying.

Why do some jobs have no salary listed?

Some listings do not include pay information. We show a salary when it is available and leave it out when it is not provided.

Is the salary filter a monthly or annual amount?

The minimum salary field uses US dollars per year. It filters listings that have comparable salary information.

Can I change or clear my search filters?

Yes. Change the keyword, country, job type, salary, or level in the search form. You can clear individual fields and run a broader search again.
